Making shopping easy with six convenient locations, HORNBACHER'S® has been Fargo-Moorhead's "hometown" grocery store for over 50 years.

HORNBACHER'S shoppers expect the freshest product, best selection and lowest prices from their store, and that's a promise that HORNBACHER'S delivers. Customer satisfaction and a community partnership have remained constant with HORNBACHER'S since 1951. That's what makes Hornbacher's stores a destination for their satisfied customers week in and week out.

In 1951, Ted Hornbacher opened the first store in Moorhead, Minnesota, on the corner of 8th Street and Main Avenue. Expanding across the river to Fargo, North Dakota, the current Northport location was opened in 1956. Both stores operated under the name of Ted's SUPERVALU until 1968, when the name was changed to HORNBACHER'S. In 1975, HORNBACHER'S became a part of SUPERVALU® and during the 1990s, the Express and Southgate locations were added.

In the Community

Cherries for CharitySUPERVALU's HORNBACHER'S banner sponsors an annual week-long Cherries for Charity event that benefits the local Rape and Crisis Abuse Center in the Fargo, North Dakota and Moorhead, Minnesota areas. For every pound of cherries sold during the event, HORNBACHER'S donates 15 cents, which has amounted to more than $75,000 over the years.
