Biography: Pamela Knous

Pamela Knous currently serves as executive vice president and chief financial officer for SUPERVALU®, a position she has held since joining the company in 1997. She is responsible for finance, information technology, investor relations and BRISTOL FARMS®.
Before joining SUPERVALU, Knous was executive vice president, chief financial officer and treasurer of The Vons Companies, Inc. Prior to merging with Safeway in April 1997, Vons was the ninth largest supermarket chain in the United States.
Prior to joining Los Angeles-based Vons in 1991, Knous was a partner in the Los Angeles office of international accounting firm KPMG Peat Marwick. She was employed by KPMG for 14 years.
Knous served as the campaign chair for the 2007/2008 Twin Cities Go Red for Women campaign, a campaign that generates awareness around the importance of heart health. She was recently named to the American Heart Association Operating Committee. She was also a member of the board of directors of Tennant Company from 1998 to 2008.
Knous is a native of Minnesota and attended Carlton College. She graduated with a B.A. in mathematics and a B.S. in business administration from the University of Arizona.
