SUPERVALU is committed to business principles that respect individual human rights and expects all of its suppliers to conduct their business activities in full compliance with applicable laws, including those that require them to respect human rights, treat workers fairly, and provide safe working conditions. We will not knowingly do business with companies that do not respect these principles.
Although the Company does not presently address the specific risks of human trafficking or slavery through supplier verification, supplier audits, supplier certification, internal accountability, or training activities, the Company does conduct overall risk evaluations of its product supply chain and requires annual third party audits of and periodic certifications from its suppliers related to numerous compliance issues. The Company also maintains a Code of Conduct with discipline procedures for dealing with employees who fail to abide by the Code’s provisions. Additionally, the Company periodically reviews our general policies and procedures to ensure continued compliance with all applicable laws.
